Using Motion Without Making the Site Feel Busy
A simple way to decide when animation helps and when it gets in the way.

Animation should help people understand what is happening.
It can make a page feel smooth, but too much movement can make the site harder to read. A good rule is to animate only the parts that need attention.
Use motion lightly
Short fades, small movement, and quick transitions are usually enough.
If the page still works well without animation, the experience is in a good place.
